GTDInbox 2.1a5 and 2.0.11.5

On the back of feedback in the last post’s comments it was clear GTDInbox wasn’t working well for everyone, so I’ve updated GTDInbox to smooth over a few more sharp edges. Thanks for your patience with this!

To re-iterate the earlier disclaimer; I think that until the latest round of major updates are complete (in GTDInbox – although the same is true of Gmail!), we may continue to have less than 100% stability. I’ll post an update on where we’re at with 2.1 later in the week (but it’s progressing well).

To upgrade to 2.0.11.5, just go to http://www.gtdinbox.com/ and click the green button.

GTDInbox 2.1 testers, I hope you still have your emails with the details on how to download it. Just go to the new website and grab 2.1a5 (again, the green button).

    I am using 2.1a5 under Firefox 3.0.6 and Vista 32 SP2 Beta.

The inline label links now work both in the Inbox and in the search windows, with the one-only-status-setting being honored when the status is changed.

Thanks for the quick work. That is a big jump in functionality for me.

The numbers besides the label is not updating correctly. Often it will say [1] when there aren’t any unread mails. Any ideas?

Inline labels still not working from the “Move To” menu in 2.0.11.5.

  • Pierre

The subject line of the message is disappear when composed with “compose persional”.

You fixed the & symbol not showing correctly in the drop down, thanks. But it looks like, if I select a label from the dropdown that has an & in it, then it does not actually apply. It shows a 1 in the dropdown and is bold, but doesn’t actually apply. Also, the dropdown moves down a line (very strange).

Wow, thanks for the fast rewrites to make GTDInbox work again. The time you spend making GTDInbox work is saving manifold time for countless other people. Your efforts make the world a better place! Thanks!

Thank you so much!!!! This is the first time it is finally working. I have not tested it yet, but I finally see these buttons I’ve been hearing about. I found GTDInbox right when gMail started making the changes. My husband just lost his job, so I won’t donate yet, but I will help with something when we get back on our feet. I’m a SAHM and I home school my kids.

I have just installed GTInbox 2.0.11.5 . It does seem to to correct the problems on Gmail, unfortunately it breaks e-mail on Google Apps :(

On Google Apps the left sidebar is expanded to about 50% of the screen

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Brian

    Update…

On further investigation ( I completely uninstalled GTInbox) , Gmail Offline caused the above problem

GTDinbox 2.0.11.5 now seems to be working on Gmail and Google Apps

    Thanks,
    Brian

Worked fine for me — until this morning. I lost the dashboard and the GTD labels were added to the rest of my labels.

Installed 2.0.11.5 and it seems to be working…

Upgraded to 2.0.11.5 and my Google Labs (Calendar and Docs) disappeared, even though they are enabled in the Labs tab. Firefox 3.0.7 on XP.

Thanks for all of your work on GTDinbox. Really like it…

  • Mark

Disregard my previous post on Google Labs. They are back after 12 hours of being gone…

I’m having trouble with hipster print when I filter by Action… any ideas?

Having the same problems with label counts. If I do a browser refresh, they come out right but clicking an already read message will typically increase the label count by 1 and remain that way until refreshing browser again. This behavior has been present through the last 3 or 4 GTDInbox updates. Hope the next one catches it :)

  • John

Looking a bit closer, the labels which have unread counts which are too high are those where statuses are present, such that the displayed label count is equal to the number of unread messages + number of statuses, e.g. Travel [7] — (5 unread, 2 Statuses)

  • od

@kai, it is because _starred_ mail is counted as unread one. This is obviously a bug. I don’t have time so pleas if someone coould inform developer about this bug by forum it would by great.

when is GTDinbox 2.1 gonna release?

  • http://panlogicsoftware.com/wordpress/ Stephan

Couple items. When I go to labels screen and add a label at the bottom, selecting “P/” and a name, for example… when it refreshes the page, the prefix box is missing. I have to switch to another tab and back for it to appear.

Second, could you add a “report error/give feedback” button on your settings GTDInbox tab? Also, please show the version number there…

Andy; how are new donors supposed to get access to the beta?
I did my donation yesterday, and just saw someone in the forum requiring access… ;)

I guess I can wait some days (hardly :D )…

Everything seems much more improved in this version. I have found that & in the drop downs appear correctly now instead of escaped out.

But I have found that if I select a label from the drop down and it has an & in it, it will not actually be assigned to the message. The box will show a (1) next to Projects for example. And if I hit the drop down it will look like it has been assigned, but there is no actual label on the message. If I refresh, then it looks like it is not assigned in the drop down and there is no label on the message.

Also, when I select the item in the drop down the drop down contents (when collapsed) appear one line below the surrounding box frame. Strange, but just a visual problem there. Thanks for the great app.

I am using 2.1a5 under Firefox 3.1b3 and Vista 32 SP2 RC. Everything seems to work, but I had to force install by using the Nightly Tester Tools to get it to load. Perhaps that is minor tweak to get it to install normally?

  • http://www.rubicontechventures.com Dax Davis

Any particular reason my posts never get approved, yet one’s after them do?

    Dax

  • ECB

inline menu (the magnifying glass icon) sticks on “Loading” and then results in the following error message:

“The data for this message thread could not be found, preventing GTDInbox from setting it ‘Finished’.”

I was wondering if there was an update on 2.1. Your post says we’d get an update on progress “next week” back in February. I know you’re working hard, but for those of us itching to see some updates (and bug fixes), we’d love some info. Thanks!
