Ok, I can’t see any similar reports to the on I’ve got. I disabled all the add-ons apart from GTDInbox and got the following on restart of Firefox.

Gee, after reading some of these probs, i feel lucky. i use firefox, and couldnt log on. got no error messages; user name, and password were good, cookies were installed, had no other clues. after fumbling around for awhile, i realized that i had my firefox stealther was turned on. sure enough, once i turned it off, i was able to log on with no problem.
something simple (for me it has to be), but something i wasnt aware of. dont know if it helps anyone, thought it was worth sharing.
good luck. sounds like some people are really going to need it.

SETUP:
So, I have the following Firefox installations on my Windows Vista:

1a. Firexfox 3.0.10
1b. Firefox 3.5 Beta Prieview
2. Firefox 3.5 Beta Prieview Portable

(1a) and (1b) share the same AppData directories in windows, i.e. Add on, cache etc are shared by the two. I’ve been using this setup running mainly (1a) for quite some time. I’ve happily used GTDInbox 2.0.11.6 with this. (2) is a standalone installation that I installed yesterday (for other reasons).

TROUBLESHOOTING:
1. I never managed to get GTDInbox 3.0 Alpha 4 run on neither (1a) nor (1b).
2. Just by chance I tried it on (2) and it worked (with “Nightly Tester Tools” add on activated).
3. I went back to both (1a) and (1b) and disabled as many add ons as possible, but still no success.
4. I logged in as another Windows user, which has a fresh Firefox setup (AppData/ directory), and installed “Nightly Tester Tools” and “GTDInbox 3.0 Alpha 4″). Then I logged into the same GMail account (as above), and voila, it works.
5. Started to suspect Gmail offline and Google Gears. Installed that in this new place too. No difference, GTDInbox 3.0 Alpha 4 still works.
6. When back to my default Windows login, started (1b) and cleared the cache etc. No success. GTDInbox 3.0 Alpha 4 does not work.
7. Cannot install Google Gears in (2) so cannot troubleshoot that one. Think it is because (2) is a portable installation.

COLCLUSIONS:
There is clearly some confounding things going on; the history of my Firefox usage (installation of add ons etc) comes into play, because neither (1a) of (1b) works with my default Windows login, but in a fresh one [both using same gmail account]. It also works with a fresh (2) in my default Windows login.

Maybe this is helpful too;

GTDInbox for GMail 3.0a4 loads in Firefox 3.5 Preview but not in Firefox 3.1.10 (even when running minimal number of other add ons).

I installed a portable version of Firefox 3.5 Beta 4 [http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/test] and then upgraded to Firefox 3.5 Preview (Build 20090605162636) by hitting Help -> Check for updates…

I installed the Add on ‘Nightly Tester Tools’ and activated it so that I can install add ons that are “not compatible” with 3.5. Next I installed ‘GTDInbox for GMail 3.0a4′ and restarted Firefox.

GTDInbox for GMail 3.0a4 loads!
