GTDInbox 3.0a23 Released

In response to the Gmail changes earlier today we’ve released a quick patch.

I’ve uploaded it to Mozilla, so it should automatically update Firefox – but that could take a few days.

You can manually get it right now from www.gtdinbox.com/gettingstarted.htm

This is a very fast fix, so there aren’t any new refinements. If we’ve overlooked anything else that’s critical, I’ll dig into it first thing in the morning (it’s gone 1am here!).

Finally, if you follow Twitter / GTDInbox you’ll be privvy to these fixes and updates as soon as they happen – it’s our ‘recommended’ place to listen :)

Update
Michael Bond has reported that this didn’t fix the problem for him; so perhaps the issue is a little deeper than I expected (I’ve just double checked all my test accounts and they are fixed). If problems remain, I’ll jump straight on them first thing in the morning.

It seems the sidebar still doesn’t show up on the version of gmail for organisations. It is showing up on my personal account, but not my work one, which is annoying, as I use it for work a lot.

It’s the same for me, the upgrade to 3.0a23 didn’t fix the sidebar (still not visible).
Using FF 3.5.5 on WinXP, Google Apps.
    Thanks!

It seems that A23 didn’t fix it for all users – there’s a remaining issue that affects some of you (it seems tied to Labs).

Aiming for A24 release later today!

  • HarryO

For me, this release it works fine, both on personal Gmail account and on Google Apps.

  • Frank

A23 works great for my single user setup. Thank you, I was almost lost for a while there!

Sidebar just disappeared on me. I had loaded NOSPCRIPT and ADBLOCK add-ons to see how they work and GTDInbox disappeared after a restart of FF 3.5.5.

I disabled both add-ons but GTDInbox sidebar has not come back – I’m running 24a…

I hope you can get this resolved soon.

    Thanks.

    UPDATE – OK now

I’m running “minimalist gmail” when I check “Remove Chat” both Chat and GTDInbox sidebar disappear.

I’m back in business again, but this is a new issue – I’ve been running “minimalist gmail” with “Remove Chat” checked for a few weeks and GTBInbox has been working fine.

    Jason.
    (phew!)

    Thanks for the cue JasonB.

a24 wasn’t working for me either until I disabled “Hide Chat” in Better Gmail 2. Now the sidebar is showing for me again, but unfortunately so is the Chat Box.

Now the sidebar is here again, I didn’t try all the options and features but is seems to work,
    thanks,

    Ste

  • ste

    it seems, sorry

  • Mark

Looks like the Right-side Chat feature in labs is causing the sidebar to disappear for me.

24a is broken for me. I get 2 error messages when gmail starts up and then no sidebar.

  • Roman

Not sure if this is due to GTDInbox or Gmail itself, but I’m getting this error every second or so in the Error Console:
uncaught exception: CustomError: Service for “H” is not registered

  • http://www.mysawyer.net Mark

    024a is still broken here.
    Nothing new since the 19th.
My entry in this forum from the 19th says “awaiting moderation”
What is going on with GTDinbox?

  • Carl

Could GTDInbox be used with Thunderbird for generic IMAP accounts? I know it relies on labels being stored server side, but would it be possible to create a folder on an IMAP account that the extension uses to store its information? or, for that matter, would it be possible to use it with Mozilla Weave on Thunderbird?

I ask this because this extension has really helped me deal with my Gmail account much better and I find myself wanting to use the same techniques for all my mail accounts, because I now to expect them to work that way :)

  • Duane

After a bit of troubleshooting I have been able to determine that un-checking the “hide chat” in the Sidebar options of Better Gmail 2. restores GTD to all its glory.
