GTDInbox 3.0.22.7 Fixes Gmail Updates

No sooner had I said that 3.0.22.6 would be the “last update for a while”, Gmail goes ahead and updates itself! So, to get things back on track, please install 3.0.22.7. The new “last update for a while” :)

Installing 3.0.22.7 for Firefox

Please go to http://www.gtdinbox.com/gettingstarted.htm

Installing 3.0.22.7 for Chrome

This is important – Chrome can have difficulties upgrading addons, so we suggest you close Gmail, uninstall the old GTDInbox, and then install the latest version.

To install, please download http://www.gtdinbox.com/gtdinbox_3-0-22-7.crx to your computer, and then open the file with Chrome (by dragging the file onto a Chrome window, and clicking ‘continue’ in the bottom left).

A Note on New Features (the brand new sidebar and deadline/schedule features)

If you haven’t been introduced to the new features yet, please see http://blog.gtdinbox.com/2010/04/14/sneak-peek-gtdinbox-3-0-22-with-a-brand-new-sidebar-and-a-big-surprise/

Annoying as it can be to update (on Chrome) the add-a handful of times in a week, I DO appreciate the effort and speed with which new updates are released, especially with regards to bug fixes.

I see that as the add-on improves, the dependence on it increases, which makes fast (auto)updates even more important.

Ever get the feeling they’re doing this on purpose? :)

Just want to say thanks for an awesome, awesome job, folks. I’m using it on Chrome, been using it for months now, and I adore it, and I want to use it every single day of my life forever. It’s fantastic! Suggestion for an upgrade, if you get a chance: program my brain to do this. (Your extension is the next-best thing.)

I was very happy to see this ‘last update for a while’ I’ve created so many projects, sub projects and other labels that scrolling down to find the GTDInbox side panel was getting inconvenient. You are awesome Andy — Keep up the great work!

Sorry to say: the “Delete+MoveNext” button doesn’t do anything now under Firefox 3.6.3 but the Chrome version works as before. The conversations do not even get marked “Deleted” when I go back to them, and refreshing the Inbox doesn’t make them go away either. “Delete+MovePrevious” has the same defect under Firefox just now.

When using Chrome version 4.1.249.1036 unknown (41514) (portable version) the extension does not install. It just keeps downloading the crx file. Any thoughts on this?

I’m seeing the same issue on FF 3.5.9 and Chrome 5.0.342.9 beta running on Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala). (Using this system to make this post.)

Delete and Move Next doesn’t delete the message, it just moves to the next message. No label is applied to the “deleted” message.

This is happening on every platform I have FF 3.5 and 3.6 and Chrome on Ubuntu. Mint Linux 8 and XP SP3

Firefox 3.5.9 and GTD 3.0.22.7: when I read a mail in the preview popup and mark it ‘Finished’, it doesn’t seem to get marked as ‘Read’ but remains unread – a bug or am I missing something? When I mark it with ‘Finish and Archive’ directly, without reading the complete mail in the preview popup, the mail does get marked ‘Read’ as well.

The “Save and…” button is not working for me any longer. It just shows up as text on the page and not a button. Using FF 3.5.9

    Thanks..

  • Carlos Eduardo

Well done, it seems quite stable!

Hi Teddy, can you try 3.0.22.8 and let us know if it’s still a problem?

  • http://www.gtdinbox.com AndyM

Thank you Niilo, it was a bug (well, technically a Gmail change we hadn’t detected last time). I’ve just released 3.0.22.8 to fix it.

  • http://www.gtdinbox.com AndyM

Thanks Jason, you’re absolutely right – it’s a subtle Gmail change we hadn’t spotted. 3.0.22.8 should fix it.

Hi Erik, once you’ve downloaded it, if you drag the file on to Chrome, what happens? You should see an option in the bottom left of Chrome to ‘discard’ or ‘continue’, and you need to click ‘continue’. Please let me know if this isn’t happening.

Thanks Jack, it was a technical Gmail change that we had failed to spot in time for 3.0.22.7. It’s now fixed in 3.0.22.8.

What a wonderful message, thank you Jeff :)

I re-dowloaded the file on a different computer (chrome portable is residing in my dropbox folder) running windows xp instead of vista on the laptop and now it worked as it should do.

After installing Active Inbox, the Google lab “Sneak Peek” pops up with an empty screen. I use sneak peek a great deal.
