4 Directions at Once…

In England’s Middle Ages, men convicted of high treason were “drawn by horse to the place of execution, where they were hanged (almost to the point of death), emasculated, disembowelled, beheaded and quartered (chopped into four pieces)”. (The article, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanged,_drawn_and_quartered, is fascinating in its detail!).

I mention this only to give myself a healthy perspective on this very unusual week…

I’m currently under high pressure to take care of several unrelated things, from fixing our error reporting system (the server had problems); to putting systems in place to gather information from surveys, polls and other feedback so we can prioritise what everyone in the community is asking for; to fixing the critical bugs a few of you have been kind enough to report; to finally being able to get back to doing what I love doing most: delivering actual ActiveInbox improvements :)

The impact of this is that there will probably not be another interesting release until next week, although there may be a minor bug fixing release in a couple of days, and I won’t be appearing much on the support forum. But fear not! Lisa is expertly and warmly answering all of you, and letting me know if anything needs urgently taking care of!

Thanks for the heads up, Andy & Lisa. Riding that wave of balance requires a lot of adjustments. AIB is working well, and we look forward to seeing revisions when it happens.

AIB is looking great! Keep up the awesome efforts!

    Hi All,
Great App.  Google email is notifying me of a new interface that they are going to change to. However, they said I could do it now.  I thought, I would check to see if you guys are ready for this, or should I wait until gmail changes me on their own?

take your time, current version is working ok for me.

I am also pretty happy with the app. There is only one real pain when I logout at home and login at work again (different notebook, but same browser: chrome). In 8 out of 10 cases it does not recognize my “plus” status and falls back to the free version. I typically logout and login for up to 4 times until it works again. A fix for that would be THE feature for me in the short run.

Besides that: awesome work so far and I love the speed and dedication … and am happy to live with one or the other bug for the sake of continuous innovation ;-P

The new version is working beautifully (at least on Chrome).

I’d second the comment that ActiveInbox is working and looking great. You should deal with the nuts and bolts first. We’re all (hopefully) too busy to get upset by a lack of new features (for a couple of weeks at least).

It should be easy, but I know from personal experience how hard it can be to focus on the essentials when there’s fun stuff to do. Kudos for letting us know.

    Keep up the good work!

I’m happy with it and the big steps forward past month as a plus user.  I’ve shared on twitter and facebook and g+.

I’m looking forward to being able to tie due dates to tasks on google with the body of the email showing up in the notes of the task :)  Or am I unrealistic?

Just saw this video http://youtu.be/vSIMpFfNLEA about Google ditching the current navbar. I’m sure you’ve seen it too, but thought I’d share with the rest of the AIB users. Is this likely to throw any AIB styling out of whack??

Just got the new Google bar and AIB is broken. :-(
I think Google is rolling this out to everyone by start of next week, so I’m guessing you have some work to do. Gmail is changing so fast you have a moving target!
