Bugs Squashed [4.0.4.16]

I’ve been seeking & destroying the bugs you’ve been reporting in recent weeks.

I always find it slightly disappointing that bugs often take a very long time to track down – lots of work – but they deny me the opportunity to give them a fun write up!

They include:

ActiveInbox loads faster in Gmail. Short & sweet!

No one should get the 414 hanging error in Gmail anymore. It was caused by searches being too long, particularly when you click ‘Overdue’ on the Review Bar (any search over 1450 characters, it geekily transpires). To remedy it, it is no longer a default to include Overdue items in Today (you can re-enable this preference if you wish), and I’ve broken Overdue into date ranges, e.g. “Overdue in the last 2 months”, “Overdue older than 2 months”. Of course, no one should have Overdue items over 2 months, right? ;)

All communication with our server is now completely secure, via https.

You can install right now from http://www.activeinboxhq.com/install.php (or wait a few days for it to auto update).

    I’ve got a warning ”
    You have a very high number of active emails – this could cause performance problems. We recommend cleaning up old emails by removing their statuses and deadlines. ” Is this an AIB message? Does it just refer to S/ statuses, or all labels used by AIB?

      This is a good question, Phillip. I received the same message. I don’t know if it means that I have lots (read too many) emails scheduled, or too many selected with status labels, or if it applies to other labels as well (I doubt the later, since AIB is not tasked with tracking or doing anything with them). However, I’m just guessing. Would be helpful to know which ones might be slowing things down, so I can start hacking away at them (I should anyway!).

    Hi – After this update my Today Tab indicates an incorrect number of active messages – Something i can do to fix this?

      Ok figured it out – After the update the Today tab by default does not include the overdue items – in order to include overdue items please tick the appropriate check box in the Preferences

    Getting the high volume performance warning and now can not filter to any of the labels

    I can no longer view any of my emails under the ActiveResults tab when I clack a status from the main toolbar. It just displays the loading animation but never loads. Please fix this as it was very useful feature.

    So, is there a way to exclude “today” items from my “overdue” list?
